President
1. Organizes the election meetings, all of the orientation committee meetings and meeting up with the Dean, SRC and SAD.
2. Oversees the progression of all events by giving comments, ideas and guidelines.
3. Welcomes the new batch by having activities throughout the orientation week.
4. Addresses other batches to inform them of the incoming activities and request for assistances.
5. Must be available for ALL events happening during orientation.
6. All events must be approved by the president before being carried out.
7. Finalizes the exact dates and venues for all events from Miss Aziah in AAD.
8. Obtains the student list from SAD or AAD
9. Have the power to close down any station game if seen going against the code of conduct.
10. Writes out an introduction report in the booklet regarding the aim of orientation.
11. President must be able to be responsible, approachable, multitasking and it is a high stress level job. So please consider and think carefully upon agreeing for the job.

Vice president

5. Must be available for ALL events happening during orientation.
6. Attend the meetings with president and help with suggestions and guidelines.
7. Have the power to close down any station game if seen going against the code of conduct.
8. Vice presidents are the president’s best friends, so please make sure there are really responsible and capable of working together.

Secretary
1. Writes and records the attendances of all the meetings.
2. Collects and writes all the required proposals and reports for the SRC, SAD and Dean.
3. Informs the committee of future meeting and organize the venue for meeting.
4. Write survey for the new students to evaluate the orientation events.
5. Must be able to use msoffice with proper report writing skills.
Vice secretary
1. Perform the same task as secretary if he/she is absent
2. Collects all proposal and reports from the event organizer and submit to the presidents
3. Must be able to use msoffice with proper report writing skills.

Treasurer
1. Collects the money from SRC’s treasurer.
2. Allocate the funds for all events.
3. Submit the budget proposal to SRC and president
4. Organizes fund raising events
5. Must be able to use msoffice with proper report writing skills and msexcel for budget summary, good with money and preferably a wise spender.
Vice treasurer
1. Perform the same task as treasure if he/she is absent.
2. Collects the money from the orientation groups and gives to treasurer as fund for the orientation t-shirts, DVD, event costs and convocation-magazine
3. Organizes fund raising events
4. Must be able to use msoffice with proper report writing skills and msexcel for budget summary and good with money.
Security team
1. Determines the code of conduct and make sure everyone abide to it.
2. Have the power to close down any station game if seen going against the code of conduct.
3. Must be available for ALL events happening during orientation.
4. Must be strong in crowd controlling in both juniors and seniors.

First aid team
1. Provides first aid services in the event of injuries and emergency during the course of orientation.
2. Must be available for ALL events happening during orientation.
3. Must have proper first aid skills and adept in using all first aid equipments.

Scorekeeper
1. Makes the score sheet for all the events that have points.
2. Finalizes the points and determine the top 3 winning groups.
3. Communicates with all events to decide the scoring system.
4. Must have responsibility, time management and creativity.

Chief SM
1. Recruits SM from all batches to act as a station masters for the events’ games.
2. Briefs all SM about the events and the code of conducts.
3. Have the power to close down any station game if seen going against the code of conduct.
4. Must be available for ALL events happening during orientation.
5. Must collect all game proposals at least 2 weeks before the event and submit it to SRC and president for approval.
6. Must have responsibility, time management and good relationship with other batches to make it easier to recruit people.

Chief OO
1. Recruits OO from all batches to act as a guide for the orientation groups.
2. Briefs all OO about the events and the code of conducts.
3. Splits the new students into groups.
4. Obtains the student list from SAD or AAD
5. Must be available for ALL events happening during orientation.
6. Must have responsibility, time management and good relationship with other batches to make it easier to recruit people.

Icebreaker
1. Plans and organizes the theme of the event which is always the 1st event during orientation.
2. Proposal should be given to the presidents before finalization.
3. Consists of station games and a main theme.
4. Decides the venue of event.
5. Writes out an introduction report in the booklet regarding icebreaker.
6. Organizes sub committees to help out in the setting up and cleaning up.
7. Must have responsibility, time management and creativity.

Telematch
1. Plans and organizes the theme of the event which is a telematch, which builds up more senior- junior interactions.
2. Proposal should be given to the presidents before finalization.
3. Consists of station games and a main theme.
4. Decides the venue of event.
5. Writes out an introduction report in the booklet regarding telematch.
6. Organizes sub committees to help out in the setting up and cleaning up.
7. Must have responsibility, time management and creativity.

Treasure hunt
1. Plans and organizes the theme of the event which is a treasure hunt, which requires a map and clues to find the treasure.
2. Consists of station games and a main theme.
3. Proposal should be given to the presidents before finalization.
4. Decides the venue of event.
5. Writes out an introduction report in the booklet regarding treasure hunt.
6. Organizes sub committees to help out in the setting up and cleaning up.
7. Must have responsibility, time management and creativity.

Variety nite
1. Plans and organizes the theme of the event which is group performances plus solo performances for all orientation groups.
2. Proposal should be given to the presidents before finalization.
3. Decides the venue of event.
4. Writes out an introduction report in the booklet regarding variety nite.
5. Promotes the event and preferably try to develop fund raising schemes along with the event.
6. Organizes sub committees to help out in the setting up and cleaning up.
7. Must have responsibility, time management and creativity.

Finale nite
1. Organizes the ‘final’ orientating event (usually excluding community orientated project as that project is more of an interaction of the new students with the community) which is dinner provided with dance and announcing the best (most sporting) male and female junior.
2. If the dinner is catering, then suitable and economical caterer should be used to cut cost.
3. Writes out an introduction report in the booklet regarding finale nite.
4. Promotes the event and preferably try to develop fund raising schemes along with the event.
5. Organizes sub committees to help out in the setting up and cleaning up.
6. Must have responsibility, time management and creativity.

Community Orientated Project
1. Organizes a project which allows interaction between the students and the community service centre such as orphanages and old folk’s homes.
2. Writes out an introduction report in the booklet regarding community orientated project.
3. Organizes sub committees to help out in the setting up and cleaning up.
4. Contact numbers of the community service centre that have liaison with IMU can be obtained from Nicole in SAD.
5. Must have the responsibility and passion to help out the community.

Track trip
1. Assigns the location for the shopping complex visit and collect the pictures from the trip.
2. Gives all collected photos to the multimedia committee.
3. Writes out an introduction report in the booklet regarding track trip.
4. Must have responsibility, time management and creativity.

Dress code
1. Plans and organizes the themes of the event, which usually runs for 3 different days.
2. Decides the venue of events.
3. Proposal should be given to the presidents before finalization
4. Organizes sub committees to help out in the setting up and cleaning up.
5. Must have responsibility, time management and creativity

Signature hunt
1. Makes the signature hunt list and gathers information for the secret agents.
2. The signature hunt MUST have all of the committees, SRC members, batch reps from other medical batches AND Dental batches, previous orientation presidents and secret agents.
3. Must be able to use msoffice with proper report writing skills.

Booklet, t-shirt and banner committee
1. Designs all 3 items.
2. Helps to promote and sell t-shirt.
3. Please contact with B-comfort T-shirt Production Company.
4. Requires some photo shopping skills and must be creative and have good sales promoting skills.

Multimedia and DVD committee
1. Writes and directs the video for the orientation committee.
2. Assist all events which require any sort of multimedia related issues.
3. Compiles the videos taken in Variety nite and pictures from the photographer and track trip, and burn them into DVD for the juniors.
4. Borrows equipments from the IT departments.
5. This job needs skill, time management and creativity in producing and operating multimedia related devices.

Photographer
1. Takes pictures during orientation as memento
2. Must have at least one camera, not necessary high end ones but have good skills.


First of all, I want to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone of you for having faith in me as the next orientation president. Truly, it is a privelege and and I'm proud. Yes, I'm proud for I have my batchmates' backing...and proud cause we are a happening bunch which would SHATTER glasses, TREMBLE grounds, IGNITE enthutiasism in the upcoming orientation!!! My promise to you is only one....Sam Ye Han as the orientation president is still Sam Ye Han the random guy you see everyday! Really hope u all would be able to be elected as soon as Wednesday, 13th October 2009 after the second lecture is over. Time is almost up! Study hard for summatives.... - Sam Ye Han :D :D :D
