Interesting Talk!

Hi all,
Alumni Talk
By: Dr Khoo Teck Kim (MBBS Calgary Canada, Endocrinology)
Main topic: Residential Training
Date: 22nd February 2010 (Monday)
Time: 3.45 p.m
Venue: LT2
From wikipedia:
Residency is a stage of graduate medical training. A resident physician or resident (also called a registrar in the United Kingdom and several Commonwealth countries) is a person who has received a medical degree (MD, DO, MBBS, MBChB) and who practices medicine under the supervision of fully licensed physicians, usually in a hospital or clinic. A residency may follow the internship year or include the internship year as the first year of residency. The residency can also be followed by a fellowship, during which the physician is trained in a sub-specialty. Successful completion of residency training is a requirement to practice medicine in many jurisdictions.
In other words, resident is the equivalent of Registrar/Medical Officer (MO). It may be included in years of housemanship (internship).
Warmest regards,
Jodie

Dear all,

There is a Student Lounge survey to be done - which is especially important because we need to (realistictly) until what time the student lounge should be open. We have got quite a mixed response on this so we would really appreciate your feedback on this! It will be closed on 1st of March.

Recycle Bins

As some are aware, there have been recycle bins placed around campus for over two months now. This was an initiative taken by Facilities and Management and SRC. We hope students will use them well and will only put the appropriate items in the appropriate bins.

The bins at LG, near the Canteen and Darts area are for Plastic, Paper and Cans.
The bins that are placed near the escalators are for Plastic only.
They are the round bins with the recycle stickers on them.

Gym News

SRC, the Gym Club and SSD are working towards improving the gym facilities. We have completed the maintenance of the current equipment and the airconditioner and placed lockers inside the gym for people to place their valuables in whilst exercising.

We are currently working on purchasing new equipment and improving ventilation.

Warmest regards,
Zia Shah

http://its.imu.edu.my/imusurvey

The DEADLINE is this coming Tuesday, Feb 9th 2010.
------------------------------------------------------------------

2) Spy Recruitment

Regarding the OO recruitment from our batch, Amy and I will bring
the list on Tuesday to recruit from our batch. Please confirm with
your juniors and send only one representative per group to fill out the
names for those interested. This time around, we would only like the
permanent OO's to register, floating OO's can still participate but need
not write their names down. As for T-shirt orders, names on the list
will order via the OO list itself, whereas EVERYONE else who is interested
in purchasing a Senior Orientation T-shirt please send your orders in via
email including your: FULL NAME, Size (36, 38, M, L, XL), Batch,
phone number.

Regarding the spy recruitment, we will bring the Spy list on Monday,
Feb. 8th 2010 to lectures and those interested can sign up. This is
for those spies who do not care which group they are placed in, as those
spies with preferences will have already registered on the OO list itself.

Thank you for your cooperation! : )

When AAD asked me to send in the name for our IT rep, I realised we

OO & Spy Recruitment

Hello there!

The time has come to recruit from our batch.
Nearly all Junior groups retained their original group
number in terms of OO'ing. So now the only request
I have is for those of you who have juniors and want
to OO, please go double confirm with them about their
group, then select a representative and come see either
Amy or myself to fill in you friend's names and your name
for the respective orientation group.

As for the minority of those who might want to OO but
didn't OO last semester, come approach me personally so
that we can work something out.

Next up, spies. Those that want to be spies register your
names in the spy list which I will be bringing tomorrow.
Because there are already 25 spies registered, we can only
try our best to accommodate your request for being a spy
at a particular group, thus this list will serve as a proposal
list. Once we have confirmed your spot, we will inform you
in due time.

We will try our very best to ensure that every1
that wants to OO or be a SPY gets the opportunity.

Go ME/DT109!!

IMU ECO Friends Club
---------------------------------------------------

Dear all,

Hope you are having a good time.. As you can see, IMU will have a brand new new club soon and it's related to one of the hottest topics of 2010 which is also the main concern for the world right now! The first step is to recruit at least 20 members inclusive of committee members for those who are interested. For now, you can email Isabell Tam Wen Feng (isabelltam@hotmail.com) or Cheong Yee Yi (cyeeyi@hotmail.com) your NAME, ID, BATCH & CONTACT NO to register or if you have queries. The AGM/WELCOMING PARTY is on 3rd February 2010 (wednesday) from 1 - 1.45pm in 3.06 (room opposite library pigeon holes) while lunch is provided to elect committee and disclose all the plans and acitivities. Students can just walk in on that day itself or after the club is formed to register, but we need to have at least 20 confirmed members before AGM starts. Every member (to be involved in commtitee or not) should come to the AGM. We hope by taking this small step, we can create a positive change for mother earth. Small steps go a long way. Thank you for your attention! Have a wonderful day!

P.s. : Please email or check out our event on facebook
(http://www.facebook.com/event.p hp?invites&eid=184665204956) to confirm if you are coming best before Monday, 1st Feb 2010.
