PMS Students - Updates

Greetings Fellow Batchmates!

I have grouped all the most recent updates that pertain especially to the PMS students. This is especially important that I get the message to you all clearly so please tell your friends as well in case they didn't hear my announcement in lectures or read the batch blog.

1. PMS Students' - Contact List

I understand that there are some of you who sometimes face a problem with lack of notification of some important updates (eg. tuition fees, fee deadlines, etc.). Miss Imelda has sent me the contact list of those doing PMS, so what I ask for your cooperation for is to check your own details in the list and to make sure there are no mistakes. It will be good if AAD can contact you easily especially during this important time nearing PMS matching. If there ARE mistakes, please send the updated/correct details to Mrs. Imelda at:

imelda_bartolome@imu.edu.my

2. Mock PMS Matching

Another thing that has come up to my attention was that the previous M208 batch had actually organised a mock PMS matching for the PMS students. This allowed a data presentation of the PMS students' top few choices so that you can see the "competition" among the various PMS options. This would then be expected to help you make a more informed ordering of your PMS choices. I understand there are some limitations as well, such as the truthfulness of the respondents' answers and also the fact that some irregardless will still choose the universities they have set out to choose. So, it prompted me to take a poll whether or not you all do want to have this mock PMS matching. It definitely will require a considerable amount of effort to compile this information, so if the majority DOES want then I will carry forward to do it. So please do vote in the poll on the right-hand side of the screen.

Deadline for Polling:

CSU Cases & Answers

Greeting MEDT109!

Well, our awesome ex-SRC President, Zia has taken the effort to send us some mock CSU cases as well as their corresponding answers. OSCE is not going to be easy seeing it is semester 5, so we need every edge we can get so I hope that more people will step forth to share the resources with the batch. :) You can download the respective files at the links below:

If you want to share it with the batch, how do you go about it? Well, it's simple. Attach the file and send it over to our batch email and state whether or not you want us to credit your name or leave it as anonymous. We could always just keep these kind of things to ourselves, but I believe our batch is a batch that is not selfish and if presented with the chance would help their peers. We've all made it into med school already, let's do this small part and perhaps even somehow help each other through it. A happy batch is one that learns together! :-)

Let's do it MEDT109! Let's gun for EOS5 and show it no mercy. :-P

Regards,
Eldwin

Important Announcements (Feb)

Greetings fellow batch mates! :)

I know this past Thurs and Fri has been really busy with everyone running around conducting com med surveys and keying in data, etc. So, it made it somewhat difficult for me to announce anything so I shall make full use of our batch blog to do so. Here are some important announcements to take note of:

1) ME/DT109 Prom King and Prom Queen Contest

As some of you may have known, last week I opened up nominations for a prom king and prom queen rep from our batch for IMU Ball 2011. These top voted nominees are listed in the poll to your right, so do check it and vote for who you think should be the prom king and queen from our batch. Here are just a few ground rules, I separated the nominees because the IMU Ball committee has asked for it to be done individually rather than paired up, so to avoid any confusion I have separated the names. Also, I can't control who votes so please only vote once to keep things fair and also my friendly request for non-ME/DT109 people, please do not interfere with the polling so it is more accurate. :)

DEADLINE: 25 Feb 2011, 9AM

2) Selective Results Released

Yes, that's right our semester 4 selectives results are ready for collection at AAD. So do make your way over to AAD to find out how you did!

3) CPR Certs

Okay, I know there are still a few of you all who have not received your CPR certificates. I am not sure if it is still of much help for you all seeing as it expires in 2011. But, if the PMS school requires it and/or you just want it because you did pay to sit for the CPR exam and HAVE NOT gotten your cert please follow the instructions below:

a) Write an email to medt109@gmail.com
b) subject title: "CPR Cert" and make sure you have your NAME exactly as you want the certificate to say.

This shall be my final call, because I do not want to leave it lingering on any longer. I apologize for some who I didn't get to hand your CPR certs to because my bag was robbed October last year, and with it several certs were stolen as well. So yes, my apologies for any inconvenience caused.

DEADLINE: 1 MARCH 2011

4) ECA Briefing

For PMS students especially, your ECA report will be important as it will be sent to the PMS schools in your file. So, do keep checking back on the batch blog regularly and I will also make the announcement considering the DETAILS of the ECA report briefing.

5) MOCK PMS Matching

I heard the previous batch did something really helpful which is a mock PMS matching. Doing so will let you know the competition for the various universities in PMS according to popularity in our batch. This may or may not help you re-decide the sequence of your PMS choices, however this is still in progress I shall speak to SRC about how to get this done for you all.

If there are any questions or any suggestions you would like to share, please send them to the batch email. I would be more than happy to comply if it is sensible and is in our batch's best interest. :)

Cheers,
Eldwin

But i'm equally aware that no one will be around that time because we are all busy running around kampungs conducting surveys for com med. So at least you are informed and if you do have any questions you would like to ask, perhaps some of your juniors might be going and you can ask them? :)

GP Posting Report

Greetings M109! I really hope every1 has been enjoying their holidays to the max and a Happy Chinese New Year to you all. :)

A few people have asked me about the GP Posting Report and when the deadline is, so here are the answers below:

1) When is the debriefing session?

The debriefing session will be slotted into the semester 5 timetable, so when the timetable is released (which should be very soon!) then you will know when.

2) When is the deadline for the GP posting report?

After the debriefing session, i'm told we will have a short presentation of our reports and then hand it up personally to AAD and for it to be confirmed by signature. The details are sketchy, but shall keep ya'll posted as I get the news. For now, let's just make it a really safe bet to finish your GP posting report before starting sem 5. :)

3) What format do we follow for the GP posting report?

Do hold on to your GP Posting booklets! The format and requirements are listed out in detail for you to follow.

That's all for now. Any more questions do not hesitate to FB me, SMS me or in fact use any form of modern communication to get in touch with me. I always welcome it.

Cheers!
