Q & A Session - Week 3
I just received confirmation earlier today that indeed the Q & A for 30 APRIL 2010 is canceled as there has been no specific request for a lecturer. Know that, if you all want to request any particular lecturer to clarify anything then please send the request to the batch email - and i would be more than glad to accommodate the request!
Have a great weekend!

Interval Annoucenements (27-4-2010)
I have posted the several announcements I made in between lectures earlier today for the convenience of those who didn't catch it or were absent today for any reason.
1. AIR topic for GI System is still on and it has already been uploaded to the I: Drive.
2. For those that are posted to KKB for rotations, please help out your leaders by approaching them so they can slot you in an appropriate space. The deadline for the accommodation is this Thursday (**take note**). Also, females are not allowed to stay in the houses. SSD has given the reason that they don't want to be liable for anything and also they do not want to let us do this as future batches will then also ask them if they could do the same.
3. KKB logbooks - EVERY1 is required to have a copy because all of us will eventually do a posting at KKB. Thus, even for those that are going to Gombak this sem should grab a copy of the logbook for themselves as next sem it will no longer be distributed. I have already distributed it today in between lectures, however for those that may still lack one - proceed to Miss Imelda (ext. 2205).
That's all for now!
Thank you.
Regards,
Eldwin

24HR Enduro Toprope & Boulder Climbathon
The 24HR ENDURO TOPROPE & BOULDER CLIMBATHON is a competition, which is
divided into a 21-hour Endurance Climbing Competition and a standard 3hr
Boulder Competition. Participants of BOTH competitions will be in the
running to seize the revered titles of the KING & QUEEN of Camp5.
The main event of the competition will be the 24hr Big Wall event - a
feat of endurance that emulates the adrenaline, adventure and
perseverance of real outdoor mountaineering. Competitors are judged
purely on vertical distance climbed over a period of 24 hours,
difficulty of routes climbed will not affect scoring. The mechanics of
the Big Wall allows climbers of all age and ability to take part.
The prelude to the 24hr Big Wall Climbing Marathon is the Boulder Comp.
Conducted in a format familiar to the region the competitors will
challenge themselves on a smorgasbord of climbing routes, scoring is
based on routes difficulty, accumulated over the total number of routes
climbed.
Travelling from USA, Timy Fairfield (www.timyfairfield.com) the invited
official master of ceremony a widely respected veteran, former
professional rock-climber and coach for the US national team, Timy is
familiar with Malaysia, having been contracted for Asian X-Games for the
3 consecutive years it was hosted here.
The lively and upbeat atmosphere of the entire event will be musically
supported and artistically of aerial performers from Mexico, slackline
clinic by Martin Siegrist (www.mrtn.ch <http://www.mrtn.ch/>) Downhill
Skateboard World Champion supplemented by international DJs such as DJ
Blastique (www.blastique.net <http://www.blastique.net/>) and many local

KKB Hostel Groupings
Regarding the KKB hostel groupings, after consulting with SSD - it has been concluded that all FEMALES will not be able to stay in the houses and must reside in the nurses hostel. SSD wants to avoid any potential complications and also unable to allow us to do this otherwise they would have to allow the future batches as well leaving them open to a liability. I plan to make this announcement next Monday in between lectures - but yes, I will be handing accommodation lists to the FIRST 2 names on the groupings list. They will be your leaders so refer to them. As for the appointed leaders, please return the sheets filled up with every group member's name to be before 21 April 2010.
Thank you.

Eldwin

KKB Hostel Groupings
Yes, with the release of the rotation groupings last evening - I have been asked by many
about the accommodation (esp. the houses) for the students being sent to KKB. This situation is like this: Each group has 30 people and about half are guys and half are girls - there are 4 houses and each house can hold 6 individuals. I will think of the fairest way possible to distribute the remaining houses to the girls.
I will come up with a system by Thursday, please give me some time.
Also, i'm open to any suggestions as to how to fairly distribute the houses. :)

Eldwin
