Sem 2 Textbooks!

Hey there ME/DT 109!
It's been a busy week which is why this blog has not been
updated the past few days. Okay, first issue i would like
to address is concerning the batch ordering of sem 2 - related
texts. I've compiled a short list of recommended texts
(recommended by seniors) that i am trying to get the discounted
prices for us from both Emo & Kamal. I should have a final list
of prices ready by early next week and when I do i will post it
up on the batch blog and make an announcement during break
time. So stay tuned.

-M209 orientation starts on the 24th of August 2009 and will last for 2 weeks.
-We are already starting to recruit orientation officers (OO)!
-We are in need of OO s for 12 groups.
-Each group should have between 3 to 8 OO s and in that 8, a maximum of 2
floating OO s only if any.

hey all,

This is Karmen Long from ME109.

The 30-Hour Famine is a global movement against hunger and poverty. Participants go without food for 30 hours and get a glimpse of the dire conditions that children and families in need endure everyday

We're organising a 30-Hour famine DIY camp in IMU, it's the 1st time ever IMU allow the students to stay overnight, please take on this golden opportunity and help to give the underprivileged children a brighter future.

We are actually still persuading IMU to allow us to stay overnight, they have actually agreed verbally, we just need to gather enough camper to show that IMU students are interested in these kinds of events. Hope u all could GIVE US SOME SUPPORT !

Each school will organized a DIY camp this year for the first 24 hours.

IMU Famine 30 DIY Camp

Date n Time: 22/8/09 12pm to 23/8/09 12pm

Venue: IMU

Camp Fee: RM10

For the last 6 hours (to sum up to 30 hours），all DIY camps will gather in Bukit Jalil. Pop Star Zhang Hui Mei , Amei from taiwan will be counting down with us. She will shared with us her experience in India and also will sing.

* p/s : only those who collect a donation of 80 bucks are entitled to the countdown sessions organized by WORLD VISION MALAYSIA*

Hey everyone!

A few announcements for you to take note of :

SRC Treasurer/Acting Treasurer
As both our Treasurer and Acting Treasurer are currently on leave, there will be no issuing of cheque/ claiming until Nirmal (Secretary) is back on the 4th of August 2009. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Sailing Trip
The Ministry of Higher Education is organizing the “IPTS Sailing Adventure2009 ” which is opened to student participants from all private universities. Participants of this adventure will be taken for a sailing journey with the Royal Malaysian Navy vessel MV Fajar Samudera from 6th to 9th of October 2009. The students participating in this event will be exposed to land and sea activities in Pulau Sembilan, Pulau Pangkor and Langkawi. We are currently still short of 2 male participants. The whole trip will be sponsored by the Ministry. Please contact Miss Aznah from SSD for more information no later than 10th of August 2009. Places are based on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Focus Group

Dr Mei Ling wants to hear from you! Yes, all of you. Basically, what she wants is a Focus Group, of students representing each faculty (about 2 per faculty) to group together and have a discussion with me.

And our topic will be. . .

What do you think can be done to instill more university pride in you as an IMU student?

That will be the general gist of it. However I will be asking you guys a few more questions regarding what you think we could work on to improve our university's standing in Malaysia for Dr Mei Ling wants IMU to be the number 1 preferred choice of private medical universities in Malaysia.

So guys, this is your chance to be heard. A chance to fix all those broken cracks you've been dying to get to but haven't had the chance. Consider it a survey of sorts.
